I have had the pleasure of being able to travel to many areas of the world as a charter cruise captain and have seen many areas where illness and disease was devastating and much of this was because they did not have water that was fit to drink. I have helped on two occasions to help drill wells in remote areas of Mexico. I have some friends who are building a 90' sailboat, Zebulun, to use in the Pacific to go to remote places to help build infrastructure and provide medical and hygiene clinics. On this Water Day 2008, I will contact friends and will raise money to buy a portable water drilling rig to send with them on the boat so that they can drill water wells in the remote areas where they go and it is needed.
